Hip hip hooray! It’s the holidays! Join The KZN Science Centre this festive season for the fabulous Fantastic Food Science Holiday Programme!

From the 7th of December 2013 until the 14th of January 2014, explore the science behind cooking with some extraordinary workshops! Play food detective by finding out which fats are healthy and those that are not, investigate what acid is present in potatoes, and discover if your cereal is magnetic!

How about becoming a ScienceChef for the day? Try your hand at Instant Sorbet or have a blast at making play dough- and then eat it!

Get those neurons in overdrive with the Moving Memory mix and match game, work your way through the Pyramid Pile food group challenge or get those CSI hats on and extract DNA from strawberries! Catch The KZN Science Centre Crazy Chemistry Science Show for explosive science using kitchen ingredients.

Chief Executive Officer of The KZN Science Centre, Mrs Candice Potgieter, urges all parents to bring their kids to the Fantastic Food Science Holiday Programme and embark on a journey of family fun, excitement and edutainment- all in the safe confines of the centre. “In these tough economic times, The KZN Science Centre understands the need for affordable entertainment for children of all ages. Thus, we have put together an amazing array of educational activities that are guaranteed to keep even the most inquisitive minds busy this festive season!”
